About Me

Jessica Tait is an impassioned artist who thrives on capturing the decisive moments experienced by her subjects. With over ten years of experience in communications, an undergraduate degree in art history from Mary Baldwin College and graduate degree in leadership from Georgetown University, Jessica has solidified her reputation as an accomplished industry leader and communications professional who truly understands the power behind visual storytelling.

The defining moment of her professional career thus far occurred while serving as the U.S. government spokesperson during the internationally acclaimed 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue in Thailand. She became an international icon overnight, appearing on countless national and international media outlets as the face of the U.S. response to the presumed-lost boys soccer team.

The U.S. Ambassador to Thailand at the time recognized the impact of her performance on the world stage and explosive popularity on social media. He invited her back to Bangkok to lead a women’s empowerment program, serving as a symbolic role model to Thai women through numerous public speaking engagements and media interviews. Jessica was asked to serve as the commencement speaker for D’Youville College in 2019 and has continued to share her story through published content, interviews and community engagements.

Jessica currently serves in the U.S. Air Force as a public affairs officer with 11 years of experience effectively promoting and enhancing the image of the Air Force through innovative communication strategies, activities, and robust community and media relations programs. She has led public affairs operations at all levels to include five wings, two headquarters, three contingency operations, and over 20 international exercises.

Since childhood, Jessica has gravitated to the visual arts as an outlet for her creative expression. She taught herself the art of photography and developed her style and preference for candid portraiture during her time in Southeast Asia from 2016 to 2018. Her work has been published by numerous military publications like Defense News, Air Force Magazine, Air Force Times and websites affiliated with the Department of Defense.

Jessica continues to grow as an artist, communications professional and leader while traveling the world documenting the lives of extraordinary people and serving communities in need.
